No More Rallies! Tea Party Members on Glenn Beck

September 29th, 2011 by NC Tea Party Staff Categories: Archives 8 Responses

2 members of the NC Tea Party went to NYC for the very first Glenn Beck show and spoke about Tea Party groups no longer needing to form rallies and marches, instead we must roll up our sleeves and get work done as you hear in this clip.

  1. Bruce says:

Is there a local Tea Party Chapter in Forsyth County or the Triad area?

  2. Jane Heart says:

Oh this is a HUGE mistake. The rallies united the conservative people as a force! Now it’s difficult to find a tea party or an activity anywhere. We were not ready yet to be broken apart as we are now. I can’t emphasize enough that this was the wrong way to go.

  3. Jerry says:

Who is in the leadership positions of the Forsyth County Tea Party???

  4. Wally says:

Rallies served their purpose and that is done. Now is the time to do the real work. Vet candidates! Select candidates! Get them elected! Hold their feet to the fire!

Let’s be clear there is no one Tea Party. Their are Tea Parties and Tea Partiers. It is up to individuals to do this work. We do it under the banner of the Tea Party Movement, but individuals do it.

  5. Jeff Rau says:

I don’t know yet that the Tea Party has been hijacked. I do agree that some rallies are important.

  6. Andrew Stoy says:

    This is a big mistake.
The Tea Party movement has lost it’s way. It is now many groups who are only interested in soliciting for donations and seminars. The original supporters have allowed the movement to be hijacked.
Rallies are needed to continue to show the diverse ethnic makeup of the group, as well as the different age groups involved. The left now has people believing that we are a bunch of racist gun toting terrorists.
The rallies were a very powerful way to combat that incorrect image.
I agree that more grass roots work should be done by supporters, but ignoring the powerful impact that rallies had is huge mistake!

    • JAMES KERN says:

I could not agree with you more Andrew. Since there is no true ‘Tea Party’ rallies bring those of like minded Tea Party values together and strengthens their resolve. These rallies always bring out a ton of media and should be looked at as free advertisement for the Taxes Enough Already cause.
