Forsyth Co. Conservative Cookout

Forsyth County Conservatives,
Get the family together and come out for a potluck dinner! This will be a casual get together that will give us all a chance to catch up with each other, meet new friends, and discuss what our role will be in the 2012 election.

Bring a covered dish (or pizza, bucket of chicken, your choice) AND a drink. (If everyone brings enough for their family “plus a couple”, we’ll have more than enough!)

For those not familiar with Horizons Park, it is five miles from Highway 52 at Hanes Mill Road (Stanleyville area)-.
http://maps.google.com/maps?q=horizons+park&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&hl=en&tab=wl

Horizons is a very large park, with an awesome nearby playground and swing area for younger children, and a large area for a great kickball game for the bigger kids.

Be considering how you are going to be involved in the 2012 election. Precinct organization is at the heart of grassroots activism; Campaigns are going to need volunteers; Phone calls are going to need to be made; we MUST fight voter fraud in 2012!

Questions concerning the event should be emailed to forsythconcteaparty@gmail.com

Please RSVP via Facebook here-

or email if you plan on attending, so we can plan accordingly!

If you are able to stay afterwards and help clean up, please leave a comment on the event wall. The more that can stay, the quicker it will be finished!

Are you on our county mailing list? If not, email Wendy@NCTEAParty.com with “list” in the subject line!

WSSU: They did it again!

WSSU: They did it again!

Former WSSU Vice Chancellor Uses University E-mail Account to Support DREAM Act

WINSTON-SALEM — Pedro Martinez, an education professor and former provost and vice chancellor of Winston Salem State University, disregarded e-mails from the chancellor of the university and the president of the UNC system warning faculty not to engage in political activity on state time or using state resources.

On Dec. 7, Martinez sent sports sciences professor Himanshu Gopalan an e-mail supporting the federal DREAM Act and instructed him to forward it to “the rest of the faculty.”

Martinez received the e-mail from the American Association of University Women.

“Help Support the American Dream,” the e-mail began. “Write your senators now,” it continued, “and tell them that undocumented students who have known no other home than the United States deserve the opportunity to pursue the dream of a higher education.” (read more)

You might remember back in October when this same University used faculty email to round up support for the Democrat party. By now, it’s become apparent that this University has no trouble begging for forgiveness since they do not have permission to lobby political support while receiving taxpayers hard earned money.

Exploiting fear through racism

November 11th, 2010 by Morphius Categories: Featured, Forsyth County, School Board, Winston-Salem Issues 2 Responses

The attempt by the Rev. William J. Barber II, the president of the North Carolina chapter of the NAACP, and the NAACP to label certain members of the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County school board as segregationists was beyond outrageous (“Tabor upset with NAACP over flier,” Oct. 30). And apparently, there are several things Barber doesn’t know about the segregation era. The first is segregation itself.

During that time, the government selected schools for black people and black families had to send their children to those schools whether they liked it or not. Today, black families in Forsyth County can send their kids to any public school in the county. Does that sound like segregation to anyone with common sense? Clearly, Barber tried to exploit the fear of racism that many within the black community have for political gain on Election Day.

And to have a photo of school-board member Jeannie Metcalf next to former Alabama Gov. George Wallace, a true die-hard segregationist, on their flyer was absolutely absurd. The people of this community have known their school-board members for years. To say they have anything in common with Wallace is an absolute lie.

Which brings me to one last thing about Barber’s ignorance about the segregation era: Everyone Barber compared to George Wallace is a Republican. But Wallace, one of the most ruthless, cold-blooded and heartless segregationists of all time — was a Democrat.

CHANGE teaming up with WSPD

Article states:

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (WGHP) — Communities Helping All Neighborhoods Gain Empowerment (CHANGE) approached Winston-Salem Police Chief Scott Cunningham about a new kind of identification card. The ID is for people without proper identification.

“When the police interact with these people, it is very difficult to verify their identity if they don’t have anything on them, and it expands the interaction time,” said Cunningham. The card, which will be valid for one year, will have a photo, address and date of birth. It will also state that it’s *not a government issued ID card. Cunningham says he realizes the cards won’t be fool proof.

“There is the possibility that some of the information may be wrong, and we are giving out information to our personnel later this week about how to recognize, utilize and what safety precautions and credibility to give to the card.”

The video states that some of the people associated with the group CHANGE through their affiliates (‘Who is CHANGE?‘ / see list of churches affiliated with this group) are “not documented”. So I have the following questions concerning this-

  • Who is paying for this?
  • What is truly going to be accomplished through the use of these cards / how is this going to help the police department?
  • Are these cards going to be accepted at the DMV for illegal aliens to get drivers license at some point?
  • Why is CHANGE wanting to be involved in a project such as this?
  • You can already get an identification card at the DMV, except there, you must prove that you are a legal resident. Are these identification cards going to reflect the person’s legal status? If not, then what will be the difference between CHANGE’s id cards, and the DMV id cards?

Email Chief Cunningham with your thoughts – scunningham@wspd.org, and share them here.

UPDATE:

We received Chief Cunningham’s response to a citizen that contacted him with the questions in this article. his response was:

“Ms _____

There is significant misinformation about these cards.

The WSPD is not issuing them.

They are not be recognized as legal id nor anywhere near the equivalent to a state identification.

We are advising officers to look for these and utilize them to a reasonable extent to help identiofy who they are interacting with.

The reason for this is that having some form of identification is better than none at all.

Thank you

Scott Cunningham”

Wow, “misinformation”. Doesn’t that sound familiar? The mere sound of that word makes me cringe now. We await his next response to Ms. _____, to her reply  ”Mr. Cunningham….you didn’t answer most of the questions.  If there is misinformation, then it is because the WSPD has not done a sufficient job getting the info out to the public. Please revisit these and reply to each one:…

CHANGE and their plans for the 2010 WS/FC School Board Election

CHANGE and their plans for the 2010 WS/FC School Board Election

What is CHANGE?

Communities Helping All Neighbors Gain Empowerment is a local organization “committed to building a stronger community by developing relationships across racial, ethnic, economic, political, social, and religious lines.”  At first glance, the organization appears harmless, even beneficial.  Instead, CHANGE is a radical left-wing organization funded by well-meaning institutions who have bought into CHANGE’S vague goals of “empowerment” and “diversity.”

But who runs CHANGE?

The “Industrial Areas Foundation,” a radical socialist organization founded by Saul Alinsky and parent organization to CHANGE, which is the “largest community organizing network in the United States,” according to CHANGE’s own website.  Ominously, Alinsky’s book, Rules for Radicals, is concerned with the acquisition of power by the far left, “My aim here is to suggest how to organize for power: how to get it and how to use it.” IAF lauds CHANGE and its other affiliates, which are “functioning in 21 states, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, and Australia.”

But how does this CHANGE and IAF affect our school board?

CHANGE’s stated goal in this election is clear: elect liberal school board members to implement its stated goals of a return to busing and the elimination of out-of-school suspensions. Their roadmap was simple:

1.         Last fall, frustrated by continued losses at the polls, CHANGE successfully lobbied (in violation of its status as a 501(c)(3) organization) the N.C. General Assembly to eliminate Forsyth’s partisan school board races.  CHANGE couldn’t implement its agenda due to the 6-3 Republican majority.  The only way to get their candidates through was to take off the partisan labels.

2.         Second, CHANGE campaigned to eliminate all Democrats who dared disagree with their policies.  Take school board incumbent Vic Johnson, an African-American and retired assistant principal who stated that he was not in favor of CHANGE’s busing plan.  CHANGE campaigned against Johnson in the primary and in favor of Jimmie Bonham in District 1 (North and East Winston) as a way to “clear the slate” for its candidates to take on the incumbents.

3.         Finally, CHANGE is currently organizing and busing citizens to vote in its slate of “non-partisan” candidates, all of whom have pledged their allegiance to busing and keeping dangerous, suspended kids in the classroom.

But how does this affect my local school?

The current incumbents (Democrat and Republican) have done a great job creating a system of choice based on zones of residence.  It allows children to attend the school closest to their home and, if the parent takes the initiative, a student can transfer to a different school in another zone.  It saves money and still allows for proactive parents to put their child in the school they want.  Busing is an old, outdated model that has been abandoned by a number of school districts.  Under that system, kids don’t go to the school near their house: they go where social engineers tell them to go. Watch video from a Winston salem meeting held by CHANGE supporters and listen to how they imply wanting the choice to choose where your kids go to school … is racist.

What does this mean for Winston-Salem?

A rapid return to the racial divisions of the 70’s and 80’s, where the caustic terms “white flight” and “busing in minorities” return to the political and educational dialogue of Forsyth. We have made so much progress and there is no need to elect politicians who are ready to fan the flames of race for their odd social agenda.  One need not look further than Wake County Schools.  (Watch a video of CHANGE supporters speaking highly about the now former- Wake school assignment plan that has been overturned by their new conservative majority school board)

A quick Google search of the topic shows what will exist here if you empower agents of CHANGE:

http://www.wxii12.com/news/25276724/detail.html

Lawsuits, fights, protests, and more racial tension.  We do not want this.  No system is perfect, but we’ve worked too hard to get to where we are.

We should not return to the politics of the past.  We will not be pushed there by radicals.

What can I do?

Vote.  In district 2, Buddy Collins, Jane Goins, Marilyn Parker, & Jill Tackabery.  In the at-large contest: Lori Clark, Donny Lambeth, and Jeannie Metcalf. Thank you for reading and certainly forward to every concerned parent and citizen.
