Would you give up fishing for the year in exchange for a $500 check?

Would you give up fishing for the year in exchange for a $500 check? That’s what the federal government is offering right now to anglers in Massachusetts.

The Division of Marine Fisheries and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) are conducting an experimental survey in which they will offer the Massachusetts anglers between $15 to $500 to turn in their saltwater fishing licenses. Other registered fishermen and women will be hit with mailings, asking them how much money it would take to get them to quit fishing for the year.

The point of the $145,000 survey is to measure just how valuable recreational saltwater fishing is to the state’s residents. The data will be used for allocating future fish stocks and limitations in the recreational and commercial markets, as well as to measure the value of any potential loss to anglers, should something like a natural disaster put a stop to recreational fishing.

Although most anglers are skeptical and even offended by the program, any who want to volunteer will not be accepted. The reason is because people who are just seeking a payday would skew the results of the survey. Another reason is to protect husbands, after one woman tried to turn in her man’s fishing license so that she could make a little cash and force him to quit fishing at the same time.

Video: CNN embarrasses itself; Breitbart’s tapes

Some missed the airing of the Breitbart tapes concerning Obama and his college days last night on Hannity. I watched it, and then come across this video from CNN this morning. IF you missed it last night (or even if you watched Hannity), this video explains more about the tapes, and CNN in one punch than what Hannaity covered last night, in my opinion.

The irony in the panel and O’Brien implying Breitbart / Pollack as racist and “afraid of black people”-

I believe we all can agree that those who are willing to so quickly use the “race card”, will do so completely ignorant of the facts in front of their face!

Barney Frank banned from speaking for day

Rep. Barney Frank, D-Mass., received a day-long ban from speaking on the House floor today, and the comments he had made were removed from the record, after he violated House rules with a personal attack on Rep. Jeb Hensarling, R-Texas.

“I have never seen truth stood on its head more rapidly than my colleague from Texas [just did],” Frank said today after Hensarling spoke on the House Floor. “For the gentleman from Texas — having been part of the leadership that engaged in that shameful maneuver — to now accuse us of being excessively concerned with credit is the most hypocritical and dishonest statement I have heard uttered in this House.” Before making those remarks, Frank had earlier acknowledged that “you may not accuse anyone else of being disingenuous, under the House rules.”

Hensarling admonished Frank for worrying about who gets the credit for the legislation, prompting Frank’s impermissible remarks, which Hensarling then asked to be removed from the House record in keeping with House rules. “Without objection, the offending words are stricken from the record,” the House chair said. A member of Congress who has had his comments removed from the record may not speak on the Floor for the rest of the day, “even on yielded time,” according to House practice.

Religious Liberty: Obamacare’s First Casualty (30 second version)

The controversy over the Obama Administration’s anti-conscience mandate and the fight for religious liberty only serves to highlight the inherent flaws in Obamacare. This conflict is a natural result of the centralization laid out under Obamacare and will only continue until the law is repealed in full.
