Reporters vs. Conservative Black Leaders

August 6, 2010 by NC Tea Party Staff 4 Comments

This is the best ten minutes you are going to spend today … Wednesday, August fourth, a group of black tea party believing patriots made a trip to Washington D.C. for a National Black Conservative Press Conference (snippet below) hosted by the Tea Party Express to refute claims of racism made by the NAACP. Among these patriots were Lloyd Marcus (website, Facebook, Twitter) and North Carolina’s own Timothy Johnson (website, Facebook, Twitter).

Kevin Jackson (website, Facebook, Twitter) is quoted as saying:

“Democrats have re-enslaved America,” said Kevin Jackson, president of the Black Conservative Coalition. He also stated that tea party activists are working towards building a more positive future for Americans that would reduce the size of the federal government and develop a contemporary version of the Emancipation Proclamation; the infamous document that President Abraham Lincoln signed that effectively put an end to slavery. “This time, even the white folks get freed,” said Jackson.“

Ladies and Gentlemen, it CANNOT stop here. We need more people willing to speak up, and get involved. If you are not currently involved in a project making a conservative difference for our children’s futures, and aren’t sure where to start- leave a comment. We can help.

This is wonderful news. We have heard Tim Johnson speak at our group The Winston Salem 912 Project and we loved him. He is a great conservative and leader. If you ever need any help running in NC Tim let us know!

    Bravo!

I hope you are also encouraging your members to become ball players in the real ball game of politics — party politics — by becoming precinct committeemen in the Republican Party, where they can UNITE POLITICALLY to elect new leadership in the Party and help the BEST conservatives win the all-important, traditionally-very-low-turnout primary elections.

I have been attempting to get the conservatives I know, those in the grass roots conservative organizations like the tea party organizations and “9.12” groups, who seem to believe that the only thing they can do to change the ruling class, is plan and attend mass rallies, to recognize that their BEST vehicle for changing the ruling class is the Republican Party, which is there for the taking if the country class members would just get INSIDE it. If they, en masse, INVADED the Republican Party at the local level, at their local Republican committee meetings, and becoming precinct committeemen, the could effectively TAKE OVER the leadership of the Party. That’s because, on average, in every state, HALF of the Party’s precinct committeemen slots are VACANT. Precinct committeemen, and only precinct committeemen, get to vote in the internal Party leadership elections. Precinct committeemen, and only precinct committeemen, may vote, at the local or county committee meetings, to ENDORSE candidates in the all-important, traditionally-very-low-turnout primary elections. Every incumbent must first win his primary election. Utah Sen. Robert Bennett did not survive his primary contest because grass roots tea party and 9.12 activists figured out that the real ball game of politics is played INSIDE the two major political parties, and they INVADED the Utah Republican Party caucus meetings to elect more conservatives to attend the Utah nominating convention and then those conservative delegates voted to deny Bennett a place on the primary election ballot.

Do the numbers. Only about half the precinct committeemen slots are filled (in Arizona, in 2008, fewer than one-third of the slots were filled). And they are, on average, split ideologically between conservatives and moderates. Michael Steele’s election as RNC chairman reflects that ideological split. Now, imagine if all of the empty slots were filled with grass roots conservatives. That 50-50 split goes to 75-25 in favor of conservatives. Who can then elect new leadership across the board. Conservative leadership. And have a 100 per cent strength Party, with a better conservative message, to take into the election battles against the Democrats.

If you’d like more information on this strategy, just do an internet search using the terms precinct committeeman project.

We are making some progress in Arizona. In two years we’ve gone from having, in Maricopa County, where I live, 31.8 per cent of the slots filled (1,989 precinct committeemen) to having 57.6 per cent filled (3,593 precinct committeemen). Almost all the newcomers are from the ranks of the tea parties and 9.12 and other grass roots conservative groups. We will elect conservative leadership across the board at our local, county and state leadership election meetings which take place in the weeks and months following the Nov. 2 election.

And, by the way, virtually no incumbent Republican, conservative or moderate, will talk about this strategy, because even they are TERRIFIED that they, too, may face a more conservative, more principled, conservative Republican challenger in THEIR primary race who would have the backing of all these new precinct committeemen organized to get out the vote for the BEST conservative in the primary – and that candidate would probably be a “non-professional politician” newcomer beholden to no special interests. Oh, they may say to a crowd, “Get involved in get out the vote” or “Help your candidates’ campaigns,” but they will never, never, never say, “Please, come into the Party as a voting member of it, as a precinct committeemen, because then you can vote for the leadership of the Party and be in a position to endorse the best Republican candidates in the primary elections and, by the way, it’s easy to become a precinct committeeman and it’s fun. Precinct committeemen ARE the Party. So please become a precinct committeeman.”

Kevin, I thought that you were an impressive individual when we worked together at CSC. Seeing what you do in your spare time elevates what was an already elevated opinion of you. Keep at it!
