Why are the 2010 NC State elections so Important

January 17, 2010 by NC Tea Party Staff 3 Comments

The census is held this year. The NC General Assembly will redistrict itself and NC’s Congressional districts are based on the results of the census. It is possible that NC could add a 14th congressional district based on these new population figures. The question is- do we want the vestiges of the Jim Black, Mike Easley corrupt machine drawing those districts? If the current regime remains in control that potential additional district could be another rubber stamp for BO and Nancy Pelosi.

Look no farther than Mel Watts District 12-the “snake” -that has been redrawn with the help of the Supreme Court several times.

The Wall Street Journal referred to the 12 District as “political pornography” . And if you don’t think Mel Watt’s political kingdom is important- see what he does with his power by reading this article.

Yeah Greg, that all sounds good but… We can screw around with this independents idea and just end up electing Liberals because we split our vote. If you don’t like Republicans then take over the party.

It’s not that important to put Republicans back in power. We need Indepents who are for the people. Republicans as Democrats have their own Agendas. To much of either party has been a proven fact that it is not a good thing for the American People.

Amen to this. It is vital that Republicans win both houses of the assembly this year, not only for in case we receive another district, but even if we don’t, in order to undo the gerrymandering that is currently responsible for keeping most of the NC Dems serving in the US House.
