Mike, you're right on the money! This will spread the POWER around this great republic. Let the federal government depend on the states for revenue again, rather than the reverse. As Rep. Tom Perriello (D-Va.) said this month: "If you don't tie our hands, we'll keep stealing."

Step 2 would be getting the revenue into the counties first. Let state government depend on their counties as well.

Without a doubt my personal estimation The FairTax, it’s time. | North Carolina Tea Party is just a incredibly well prepared account. Without a doubt perfectly worth referfing to together with really worth talking about http://www.ncteaparty.com/2010/01/the-fairtax-its-time/ as a result.
I think that the tea party should ask the candidate will they sign a statement that they would vote for a flat tax.
With the money that would save we could make sure our retires would be better off than they are now. A fare or flat tax would save money with the IRS and the wasted pork , lobbyist ect. and the list goes ON.

People! We need to think bigger than this. While I personally support the Fair Tax, the question that needs to be answered is: How do we starve the beast? As long as we pay our taxes directly to the feds, there is little chance of substantially changing the status quo. Why? Because there is no incentive to do so. The point should be to return this country to Federalism, reducing the power of the federal government to its Constitutionally enumerated powers and returning that power to the states.
Just imagine paying taxes only to the state. If NC wants the Fair Tax, fine. If Virginia wants a sales tax, fine. 50 little experiments that can show which works best.
But most importantly, the feds lose their power over us AND a good portion of their incentive to try and usurp the Constitution.
Please read this article posted at the Cato Institute back in '94.

It is one possible avenue for a return to Federalism
